2 weeks of finished freshstitches projects
A horse
Finally finished the sheep!
As we speak my hand is sore…the loop stitch got me. As usual I started all confident. Working through the first rows of loop stitch with a breeze. However, half way through I was getting annoyed when those 30 stitches of loop stitch came around again. (on the body of the sheep) By the last row I was completely annoyed
Yup the challenge of doing something different never lasts. I finished up the two legs, the snout, mouth and ear and the body. Today I decided to get into the next loop stitch part…so now part of the head is done too. And on to pictures
First the sheep
And then Boofle with the started head
alrighty so as stash and burn podcast plays in the background I am deciding on my first project of the year. I have recently been very into stash and burn podcast. It is a knitting podcast. And no I do not knit yet. However, there isnt much on t.v. I really like watching and I am tired of watching all my movies over and over again. So here I am…Also this podcast has been going on since 2007! So it gives me a ton to catch up on. And really it is all about just listening to someone talking about yarncraft anyway. Really doesnt matter what yarncraft it is. I have gone through a year of podcasts already. I dont remember when I started listening to this. It has been a few weeks. Maybe a month.
On a different subject what will the first project of the year be. I currently still have 8 freshstitches patterns to do and a knitted ruffled scarf that has already been started. It is between the sheep and the hippo. For some reason the sheep is calling to me. It has loop stitch, but it is something different from the same old shapes. Which I think is why it is calling to me. Loop stitch isnt exactly my favorite cause it still takes more longer than a normal single crochet. But I am getting use to it the more I have done it. Yup I think it will be the sheep for the first pattern of the year. Funny cause I purchased the horse yesterday, but am not feeling like starting that. Alright well I am good to start the sheep. More details as it comes.
Well it is a new year….at least according to a lot of calenders. So what does this mean to me? Well I have been chatting with a friend about what I wanted in the new year. Sadly the conversation ended with me saying that we would probably be wishing for the same things next year.
I hope not. This year I created more crochet projects than…well ever. it is quite scary actually.
And if I showed any of my non crochet friends the picture of most of the stuffed animals I finished this year they would go running far far away.
But I also finished my first ruffled knitted scarf. Yes I know that it is not real knitting. But it is as close as I was going to get right now. I currently own 8 more freshstitches animal crochet patterns. I only owned 7 prior to my lack of self control on a birthday sale today. I spent all day insisting I was not going to purchased because my goal was to stay under ten patterns that I owned, but had not completed for the new year. However, I justified my purchased at around 6pm by figuring that I still could purchase the pattern and be under ten patterns not done.
So Everton the horse is now mine
I also figure that I did pretty well with the fact that there are at least 5 more freshstitches patterns I would like to own.(we wont mentioned that all these patterns were in my cart prior to purchasing…just so I could see how much it would cost to get everything I own. Not at all because I was planning on buying all of them
) So what are the goals for this new year. Well hopefully to post more on here. Yes I said it. I need to put more time into documenting my crochet life and world. And my future knitting world. Yup I said it…in 2013 I will be knitting. My year will for sure be filled with more yarn. That is a guarantee. And hopefully a job that I like to pay for that yarn. I am going to do my best to use this blog in the coming year to document from the inside of my crochet world
Two Weeks of Finished objects. I got these patterns in Stacey Trock’s 4,000 likes sale. I love them allll.
These are all from the creepy crawlie e-book

I am writing this blog post because Kathryn Vercillo is hosting a book giveaway on her blog. The new book she has written is called “Crochet Saved my life.” It is all about how crocheting can be mentally and physically beneficial. I am very interested in this topic. She gave ideas on what you could write about in your blog post. The ideas were
The easier ones for me would be 1,2, and even 4.
honestly who wants to get in there and talk about themselves. However, this is the one I have chosen.
I first learned to crochet about 6 years ago. This was the first time. The first time I ended up giving up. ( I blame the yarn I started with
) The second time was about four years ago. I have found over the years that crocheting has gone from something difficult I didn’t know how to do…. to something that I currently fill most of my free time with. Crocheting is relaxing and calming to me. The benefits of crochet in my life I believe are very obvious to others around me.
